Triage Corner launched at SBMCH for providing one stop service to the patients

Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMCH) on Saturday has launched the one stop service at the emergency unit of the hospital styled as ‘Triage
Corner’ to serve the patients with one-stop service. Dr. Bakir Hossain, director SBMCH, acknowledging the fact said this corner is launched to assign degrees of urgency of the patients considering their wounds or illness to decide order of treatment in case of a large number of crowds or causalities.

It was the newly developed one stop service corner which was first in the history of SBMCH. It is an emergency unit with different facilities including
oxygen supply, he added.

Director of SBMCH said main aim and object of introducing ‘Triage Corner’ is speeding up treatment facilities, removing sufferings and time wasting of

patients and prevent spreading covid-19 virus infections among the doctors.

If any one comes to admit at hospital at first he will enter at this ‘Triage Corner’ of emergency unit and some of test including covid-19 test would be
provided free and then patient would be referred to specified ward, said Dr. Sudip Haldar, president of indoor doctors association at SBMCH.

Every patient must be entered at the unit through a germ-free gate of the unit, he added.

As a result patients would receive quick treatment facilities and doctors who serve at the department would not get any risk of infection with covid-19 virus, said Dr. Sourov Sutar, Outdoor Doctors Association of SBMCH.

The doctors of the unit told that mask would be provided to every patient at free of cost and patient would be received quick treatment facilities
including free medicine.

Sabuj Howladar, a patient admitted at this unit with breathing problem, said this facility reduced their sufferings of roaming door to door for getting
medicare service.
