Cremation of dead body died with Corona Symptoms allegedly delayed for hours at Barishal Maha Shamshan.
Confirming the report, Nirmal Chandra Shil, president of Barisal Narosundar Kalyan Samittee, said Nitai Chandra Shil, 54, owner of Nikhil Hair Dresser in Chandmari Kheyaghat area of the city, was admitted to Corona Isolation Unit of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning with corona symptoms.
He died there around 12: 00 noon and his dead body was taken to Barisal Mahashamshan at around 4:00 PM for the cremation.
But Tamal Malakar, general secretary of Barishal cremation ground preservation committee, asked to get out the dead body and his family members and associates from the crematorium area.
We have to wait for four hours on the busy road under rain and thunder storm, alleged Nikhil Chandra Shil, son of dead Nitai Chandra Shil.
Then the family contacted the deputy commissioner of Barishal and he asked local Hindu community leaders to solve the problem.
Later after intervention of local leaders of Hindu community, Tamal Malakar, secretary of the cremation ground, permitted to cremate the body, but forced the family members to stay on road outside the premise for 4 hours under rain and thunder storm.
Suranjit Datta Litu, general secretary of Barishal City Puja Udjapan Parishad, acknowledged that they were able to cremate the dead body after delay for hours due to obstacle created by general secretary of the cremation ground committee.
Vanu Lal Dey, Trustee of Barishal City Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, said `For the help of Quantum Foundation we succeeded to cremate the dead body. Tamal Malakar, general secretary of Barisal Mahasmashan Rakkha Committee, denying the allegation, said he asked family family members of the dead person to wait for some time as two dead bodies were under the crematorium at that moment.
